Rising Sun Farms Shines with First Place and Third Place Honors


Phoenix, OR (August 19, 2009) - The sun continues to shine brightly on Rising Sun Farms as the awards keep mounting up. This month, Rising Sun Farms brings home two top prizes from the prestigious American Cheese Society (ACS) Competition.   In the last three years, Rising Sun Farms has won an impressive five total ACS awards. 

 
At the 25th annual competition held in Austin TX this year, First Place in Natural Cheese Spreads went to Rising Sun Farms Gorgonzola Cheese Torta.   This classic Torta blends silky Gorgonzola with cream cheese and pears, with a crowing mixture of cranberries and roasted hazelnuts. Gorgonzola Cheese Torta is a winner as an elegant appetizer or as a spread over meat and chicken for an instant gourmet meal at home.  
 
Also taking home an award was Rising Sun Farms’ latest Cheese Torta addition - Chili Lime Cheese Torta with Third Place in Natural Cheese Spreads. This impressive newcomer is tangy and spicy with the savory flavor of roasted bell peppers and the best of southwestern spices.
 
The American Cheese Society has held its annual, international competition since 1985. This year a record 1327 entries from 197 companies participated in the world-renowned judging.
